- http://lcweb2.loc.gov/frd/ - The Library of Congress' countries site focuses primarily on lesser known areas of the world or regions in which U.S. citizens as a wole know little about. At present, 101 countries and regions are covered. Notable omissions include Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and other Western nations, as well as a number of African nations.
- http://www.xist.org/ - Xist.org's site deals with statistics on the human population. The main kind of data you can find here is on the population of regions, countries, provinces and cities. Next to that there are some statistics on wealth, manmade objects, nature's extremities and more. The site is divided into several parts. - http://www.un.org/Pubs/ - InfoNation is an easy-to-use, two-step database that allows you to view and compare the most up-to-date statistical data for any of the member states of the United Nations that you may want to know more about. How it works is, in the first menu, you can select up to seven countries that you have interest in. Then, you can proceed to the data menu where you will be able to select statistics and other data fields, so your search becomes personalized to bring you only the info you care about and nothing else.
